If you're not having a roast dinner on a Sunday then really what are you doing out in Leeds.
Leeds really does have a wealth of foodie options: from award-winning Michelin star restaurants to some of the best greasy grab-and-go 2am kebabs, there's really something for every hour of the day.
On the day of rest, our attention turns towards a British classic. The humbled roast dinner with multiple helpings of thick gravy, piled high with cuts of meats, roasted potatoes and all the veggies we can possibly cram on to a plate.
Whilst we do love a roast dinner that comes with all the above on a plate, ready for us to tuck in to: there's something about a carvery, especially the kind where you can head back over for seconds, that takes our Sunday dinner to a different level.
Here's where to fill up in and around Leeds...
Hawthorne Farm, Yeadon

The Corn Mill Hotel and Restaurant serves their Sunday roast 12-3 pm and pride themselves on cooking up roasts with freshly cooked seasonal vegetables, and our renowned homemade Yorkshire puddings. Located on Pudsey Road in Farnley, The Corn Mill Hotel and Restaurant is open to guests staying in the hotel, but is open to reservations from those looking for their roast fix too.
The Yew Tree Inn in Otley offers three meats with homemade yorkies, mash, roasties, parsnips and unlimited vegetables for £8.95. Plus, they're one of the most dog-friendly pubs in and around Leeds, there’s a roaring fire for them to warm up by as you down your weekend pint and there’s plenty of space underneath the tables for even the largest of dogs to lie down and nap.
Now, adding to their dog-friendly amenities, the pubs is offering a mini Sunday roast that’s perfect for your companion. The pub is also collecting donations for 'Your Pet Food Bank Charity' in Sheffield who have a lorry going to Ukraine before the end of the month: so feel free to bring in your donations and your dog for a roast.
Home of the takeaway roast, Man V Roast is a student favourite for a whole host of reasons. Charging a minimal amount for copious gravy, thick cut slices of beef or lamb- and the offering of unlimited tea and coffee: this is the perfect stop for anyone wanting to cure that Sunday hangover with carbs aplenty (especially if you can't face sitting in a restaurant).

Sometimes you just want a carvery and know what to expect. There's clearly a reason that everyone thinks of Toby's when a meat and carb Sunday craving comes along, and here in Leeds there's quite a few to choose from.
The Chapel Allerton spot is easy to access from the city centre and has plenty of room inside. Make sure to book in advance for any location though, these chain pubs book up days in advance and carvery places are limited. Inside Azotea – Leeds’ newest Latin American rooftop bar and restaurant
A new hacienda hangout has landed in our city and we're sure it's going to be the place to be this summer.
There's only one thing better then a bar, and that is a rooftop bar. And that's everything that Azotea is and more.
To put it bluntly, entering this venue which is on top of the Hyatt Hotel on Sovereign Street will get you instantly feeling like you're on Love Island.
We're talking fire pits, plush booth seating, lavish greenery and plenty of rattan - the interior really is stunning.

There's two massive rooftops which offer jaw dropping views of the city, as well as one long dining room and bar area for when it gets a bit chilly (which let's be honest, is the majority of the time).
Azotea is bringing a slice of Latin America to the city, with a menu inspired by 33 countries.

Expect Mexican street food, Brazilian sharing steaks, Caribbean small plates and so much more to dig your teeth into whilst enjoying the beautiful setting.
There's also a cracking cocktail list for those sun set drinks with friends, of course.

If you are wanting to sit outside on one of the bigger tables, it won't come cheap as Azotea will be requesting deposits for group bookings over eight as well as minimum spends.
However, for a special occasion there really isn't anything like it in the city and the views themselves make it worth the money.
Azotea is now open, and you can find out more about the venue and book your table here.
