Sqew is one step closer to taking home the coveted trophy, and it's all thanks to the locals.
It's no surprise that we are massive Sqew fans here at The Hoot.
The takeaway on Boar Lane is somewhat of a Leeds landmark now, known for their incredible shawarma, silky smooth hummus and brilliant team.
And it's not just us who have recognised their brilliance, as they will be competing in the finals of the Uber Eats Restaurant of The Year Awards.
Takeaways from every region are picked out by Uber Eats, and then it's up to us lot to choose our favourites who then compete for the trophy down in London.
Sqew, of course, with its loyal fanbase who can't get enough of that shawarma took the biscuit.
Announcing the news to Instagram, owner Mitch wrote: "What a year this is turning out to be. We’ve won the regional heat of @ubereats_uk resturant of the year. Couldn’t be happier couldn’t be prouder!
"We were up against it sometime last October and Jake said hang in there 2024 is our year and boy was he right! We’re heading down to London to test ourselves against 11 other region finalists and some quality operators but it’s no sweat with the team iv got behind me! We intend to bring that trophy home to Leeds!

"A huge huge thank you to all those who voted. It’s only with your support we get the permits we have! Massive shout out to the whole team at Sqew for all the votes they rallied and that huge final push, your all ace. Keep It Real Keep it Authentic Keep It Sqew"
Congratulations guys, this is already a huge achievement but we have no doubt that you'll be bringing that glistening trophy back to the city.
