We all know Yorkshire is hardly short of brilliant pubs, but we'd still never say no to visiting a new one - especially one with the title of the best pub in Yorkshire.
We're talking about the charming 17th-century pub The Shibden Mill, which is much-loved by regulars and critics alike - and has garnered quite the impressive collection of accolades.
With a 2AA Rosette award-winning restaurant, a mention in this year's Good Food Guide and a ranking in the Estrella Damn Top 50 Gastropubs, there's no doubt this is a pub worth making a trip for.
What's more, its owners have just scooped another gong - this time at the 2021 National Pub and Bar Awards.
Having previously been named as the best pub in West Yorkshire at an earlier stage in the competition, the pub took home the regional award for the best in all of Yorkshire but missed out on the national award to The Galvin Green Man in Essex.
Popular for its food offering and nearby walks, you'll find it nestled in the Shibden Valley near Halifax.
Just a thirty-minute drive from Leeds and surrounded by beautiful countryside, it makes the perfect day out - and there are even bedrooms upstairs if you want to stay the night.
Converted into a country pub from its original purpose as a corn and spinning mill in 1890, the building still retains many of its original character features including low-beamed ceilings and cosy, roaring fireplaces.
Found opposite Red Beck, the millstream that provided the vital nourishment to the inn’s corn and spinning mill beginnings, it's rooted in the area's long industrial history.
In the restaurant, you're treated to a range of menus spanning breakfast, lunch and Sunday roasts as well as their famed a la carte and tasting menus.
The bar, meanwhile, is separate and boasts an extensive wine list as well as a wide-reaching range of drinks that include some lovely local ales, spirit mixers and classic cocktails.
With a gorgeous beer garden and it's own allotment, this pub really does have it all. The only question left to answer is, when are you going?
Open Monday to Friday 12-11 pm, Saturday12 - 11.30 pm and Sunday 12 - 1030 pm, we'd say the Shibden Mill is an absolute must. That many awards don't lie.

Get Baked’s viral ‘Bertha’ cake has a sister on the way – and she sounds just as cheeky
She's big, she's green and she's ready to ruin your figure.
A lot of you will have seen the viral ‘Bertha’ cake by Leeds born beloved sweet treat specialists Get Baked.
They recently opened another site in Manchester's Northern Quarter, where queues literally formed round the block of hungry punters wanting to get their hands on the infamous sugary treats.
And now it's going to happen all over again, as they've recently unveiled their newest flavour which is sure to go down a storm.
We’ll give you a hint: it’s a current food and drink trend that’s about as big as Bertha herself – it’s not matcha, it’s not hot honey (duh), and it’s not Guinness…

Yes—scratch that; HELL YES!Get Baked is set to welcome Bertha’s equally beautiful twin sister, and she’s officially a pistachio girlie.
Having started out life simply as ‘Bruce’, after taking inspiration from the iconic scene from Matilda, this thing has become a phenomenon in its own right, and who doesn’t like more flavours of a good thing?
Probably one of the biggest foodie crazes going at the minute, thanks to the popularity of pistachio cream, cookies, lattes and the similar social media sensation that is the ‘Dubai Pistachio Bar' people are rather fittingly going nuts for this particular flavour of almost absolutely anything.
With that in mind, the Leeds-born bakery and dessert shop – founded by Rich Myers over in Headingley back in 2011 – have shown no hesitation in hopping on the bandwagon and creating a new twist on their own viral menu item.
Teasing the full details in a post on their Instagram this week, they wrote: “What’s big, green, and is going to destroy your life in a couple of weeks’ time? Pistachio Bertha. Strictly limited to 5,000 slices. Coming oh so soon. GB.”
In case you were wondering just how mad those with a sweet tooth could possibly go for a slice of cake, just look at the recent queues when they finally launched in Manchester city centre:
Speaking on the grand opening here on our turf and his partner Amy’s hometown, Myers said simply: “Manchester, what a launch. Thanks for much for the warm welcome. Stay baked.”
