A host of doggy discos are coming to Leeds next month, giving your lockdown pooch the chance to get out and shake that tail like it's 2019 again.
Taking place at Revolution Electric Press across Sunday 15th August, there'll be dedicated breed discos happening for Leeds' Cockapoos, Frenchies, Pugs, and Dachshunds all throughout the day.
There'll be a light-up doggy dancefloor, disco balls and doggy glowsticks - plus a dedicated 80 minutes of off-lead 'play time', perfect for young pups that haven't been able to socialise as much as you might have liked over the past year as well as curious doggos who just want to make new friends.

And that's not all. Think a doggy bakery, a new 'Pawesome Pick & Mix', free pupuccinos worth £3.50, and new designated ‘chill cones’ for nervous or older dogs.
Whether your pooch is big or small, pedigree or mixed breed, puppy or a golden oldie, or even a mixed breed, you are more than welcome to bring them down to the party. Just make sure you get the right breed-specific event.
The day starts with a pug party from 11 am-12.20 pm, followed by a dachshund disco from 12.20 pm - 1.40 pm. Cockapoos are welcome to come and have a wag between 1.30 pm and 5.40 pm, whilst for Frenchie's everything kicks off from 3 pm to 4.20 pm.

Dog lovers, meanwhile, are welcome to attend a doggy disco any time -dog or not.
For those concerned about ventilation, Revolution Electric Press is a lovely big venue with doors on either end to allow a through breeze and lots of fresh air to sweep through.
“This is the ultimate feel-good event for all dachshunds, dachshund owners and dog lovers alike. We’ve taken our original Dachshund Café concept and given it a super-cute disco twist," said doggy disco organiser Anushka Fernando.
"Our London Dachshund Disco before lockdown was such a fun and joyful event - we can’t wait to bring it to Leeds We all know how much sausage dogs love to meet other sausages so why not treat them to their best day ever.

"An exciting day out, lots to sniff and explore on the journey there, a land full of treats and zoomies with fellow dachshunds AND a whole lot of attention and fuss from our dog-loving guests.
"It’s a dog’s dream! We’ve also allowed for more space at this event by limiting numbers so your dachshund will have more room to explore and play”.

Get Baked’s viral ‘Bertha’ cake has a sister on the way – and she sounds just as cheeky
She's big, she's green and she's ready to ruin your figure.
A lot of you will have seen the viral ‘Bertha’ cake by Leeds born beloved sweet treat specialists Get Baked.
They recently opened another site in Manchester's Northern Quarter, where queues literally formed round the block of hungry punters wanting to get their hands on the infamous sugary treats.
And now it's going to happen all over again, as they've recently unveiled their newest flavour which is sure to go down a storm.
We’ll give you a hint: it’s a current food and drink trend that’s about as big as Bertha herself – it’s not matcha, it’s not hot honey (duh), and it’s not Guinness…

Yes—scratch that; HELL YES!Get Baked is set to welcome Bertha’s equally beautiful twin sister, and she’s officially a pistachio girlie.
Having started out life simply as ‘Bruce’, after taking inspiration from the iconic scene from Matilda, this thing has become a phenomenon in its own right, and who doesn’t like more flavours of a good thing?
Probably one of the biggest foodie crazes going at the minute, thanks to the popularity of pistachio cream, cookies, lattes and the similar social media sensation that is the ‘Dubai Pistachio Bar' people are rather fittingly going nuts for this particular flavour of almost absolutely anything.
With that in mind, the Leeds-born bakery and dessert shop – founded by Rich Myers over in Headingley back in 2011 – have shown no hesitation in hopping on the bandwagon and creating a new twist on their own viral menu item.
Teasing the full details in a post on their Instagram this week, they wrote: “What’s big, green, and is going to destroy your life in a couple of weeks’ time? Pistachio Bertha. Strictly limited to 5,000 slices. Coming oh so soon. GB.”
In case you were wondering just how mad those with a sweet tooth could possibly go for a slice of cake, just look at the recent queues when they finally launched in Manchester city centre:
Speaking on the grand opening here on our turf and his partner Amy’s hometown, Myers said simply: “Manchester, what a launch. Thanks for much for the warm welcome. Stay baked.”
